Statement on Diversity

The Department of Housing and Residence Life desires to create a community where each person feels welcome, accepted and valued for his or her own individual contribution. This will only be achieved through the desire to understand ourselves better as we also seek to understand our neighbors in the UCF community. The Department of Housing and Residence Life will provide programs and opportunities for you to share your experiences, values, culture and beliefs and the opportunity to hear the same of others. We remind you that we are all in community together and we wish for you to identify biases, assumptions, ridicule and prejudices as they occur and readily challenge these statements that may be obstacles in the way of true community. We welcome you and all the contributions that you will bring to campus housing. We know your presence will expand our horizons and we anticipate our community expanding your comfort zones.
