New incoming students will use our online preference system in myUCF to give us their preferences of the type of room they would like at the time they submit their housing application. Preferences are assigned based upon the date you complete the housing agreement, so the earlier you complete the online housing agreement, the more likely you are to receive your top preferences. It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with our various types of rooms so that you know what preferences you would like to enter.
Once you have completed your online housing agreement, you are able to make changes to your preferences until the deadlines indicated on the preferences page in myUCF. To change or update your preferences once you have submitted your housing agreement, log into myUCF and navigate to Student Self Service > Housing > Preferences. You may change your preferences and click the Update Preferences button.
Additionally, you may put in one mutual roommate choice on your preference page. For more information regarding roommate preferences, please see our Roommates page.
Do not assume you have on-campus housing at UCF until you see a date in the Housing Confirmation Date field in your myUCF status page.
If you are a returning resident to campus, you will not use the online preference system, so please see the information under Returning Residents instead.
