RHA

The President and Secretary of each area council will be responsible for attending the RHA General Assembly meetings. These meetings are the business meetings for RHA. The area council Presidents will act as the voice for their halls and will be the voting members of the assembly. The weekly meetings will be run by the Executive President.

The General Assembly will receive updates from each member of the Executive Board. Additionally, university administration will be guest speakers and will provide information about various aspects of the university including transportation, housing, and dining services. It is expected that the members of General Assembly will disseminate the information that they receive at each meeting back to their Area Council.

NRHH

You do not have to be a member of NRHH in order to come to meetings. All meeting are open to any member of RHA or NRHH alumni. The General Assembly will receive updates from each member of the Executive Board. How will a typical meeting run?

The following is the standard agenda for an RHA/NRHH General Assembly meeting. Sometimes certain sections will be omitted, as there may not be any business under that section.

When and where are the meeting held?

RHA

RHA General Assembly meetings are held biweekly on Tuesdays at 9PM (with the exception of finals week and summer sessions) in the Neptune Multipurpose Room. However, the President has the authority to call special meetings.

NRHH

NRHH General Assembly meetings are held biweekly on Mondays at 6:15PM (with the exception of finals week and summer sessions) in the Neptune Multipurpose Room. However, the President has the authority to call special meetings.

How does voting work?

A quorum of two-thirds of the total voting membership is necessary to conduct an official GA meeting. If quorum is not present, all voting business is suspended until the next GA meeting or until quorum is reached. All meetings are conducted in an orderly fashion with attendance being taken by the Secretary.

To whom and when does new business need to be submitted?

Notification for new business is to be submitted in to the President one week prior to the requested GA meeting, but the inclusion of emergency business can be made prior to the GA meeting (at the discretion of the President).
