First year students at UCF are not required to live on campus.
The University has deemed that freshmen attending college for the first time should be given as much opportunity to live on campus as possible. The University CANNOT house all the freshmen who would want to live on campus, therefore, you must be accepted by the University as early as possible so that you may apply for housing in a timely manner. Freshmen who do not get housing on-campus will be referred to UCF affiliated housing at Pegasus Landing and Pegasus Pointe apartments.
Priority for housing on the Orlando Main Campus is given to first-year students. If space is available, then transfer and graduate students will be offered housing. Transfer or graduate students may apply to live at the Rosen College Student Apartments located at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management (45 minutes from the Orlando Main Campus). There are many off-campus student housing options available including affiliated housing at Pegasus Landing and Pegasus Pointe apartments. Other off-campus resources can be found at www.housing.ucf.edu/offcampus.
Room changes can be requested after the first week of classes at your community office. Students will be required to speak with a residence life staff member before a room change is granted.
Due to late cancellations, some assignments may change up to the day the buildings open. Updated room and roommate information is available at myUCF>Student Self Service>Housing>Assignment
Annual agreements do NOT require Summer enrollment
Unfortunately, we do not have family or married housing on campus. You may research off-campus opportunities at the Off-Campus Student Resource Center.
We offer tours daily, Monday-Friday at 12pm and at 4pm (excluding holidays). Tours start from the Housing Administration Building You do not need to sign up for a tour in advance; simply come to the Housing Administration building a few minutes before the tour time. The 12pm and 4pm tours will show at least one style of residence hall room. Tours given by the Office of Admissions direct visitors to the Housing Administration Building afterwards so they can then go on the housing tours.
Please see our instructions at http://www.housing.ucf.edu/application.php on how to apply for housing.
Application prepayments must be made via e-pay though our online housing application link.
Participants with a housing agreement shall have their Florida Prepaid College Program (FPCP) dormitory plans billed appropriate charges to satisfy all prepayments and rental amounts.
Students who have a FPCP dormitory account should note the FPCP will pay only the cost of a standard air-conditioned double room. The highest standard air-conditioned double room rate offered by the UCF DHRL is $2,450. If the student elects to live in a room type that costs more than what is covered by FPCP then the student shall be responsible for any difference not covered by the FPC. To see the amounts covered and not covered by FPCP, please see section 29 of the appropriate agreement terms and conditions http://www.housing.ucf.edu/utility/forms.php .
You may use your Florida Pre-Paid Dormitory Account to pay the prepayment. Please make sure to indicate your Florida Pre-Paid Dormitory Account number.
No, the summer and fall application periods are seperate. You can apply for summer and fall at the same time using the online housing application.
If we are unable to offer you a room assignment for the semester you requested, the prepayment will be refunded. However, if you decide not to live in the UCF facilities and notify the Department of Housing and Residence Life, you will lose the entire prepayment. If you do not respond to, or reject the agreement offer, you lose your entire prepayment.
It is very important for room assignments that you have your gender correct in the MyUCF system. If you have not yet started at UCF, you should contact Undergraduate Admissions at 407-823-3000 to ask how to make the change. If you have already started at UCF, you should contact the Registrar’s Office at 407-823-3100 to have the change made. Also, please send us an email via our Contact Us page to let us know about the discrepancy.
Do not despair! Fortunately, there are many off-campus student apartment complexes near the University that can provide suitable housing. UCF is affiliated with Pegasus Landing and Pegasus Pointe Apartments, which provide off-campus opportunities for incoming students. Visit their website here for more information. The University also has an Off-Campus Student Resource Center that serves as a source of information to help students find off-campus housing accommodations, apartments and/or roommates.
Summer Agreements are one semester (Summer) obligations that coincide to the corresponding Summer session (A, B, C, or D).
Academic Agreements are two semester (Fall and Spring) obligations that coincide with the duration of the Fall and Spring Semesters at UCF. During semester breaks, residents may not remain in their rooms (though belongings may remain).
Annual (11.5 month) Agreements are three semester (Fall, Spring and Summer) obligations that exist outside the academic calendar. Residents may remain in their rooms over semester breaks.
You cannot apply for housing at UCF until you are accepted to the university. Once you have been accepted, you will be able to access the online housing agreement.
Do not assume you have been assigned to on-campus housing. Based upon your housing application received date, a housing agreement offer will be sent to you, as space becomes available. If we are unable to offer you space for the semester you desire, we will send you a referral to off-campus student housing. We will do this as soon as possible so that you may make alternate housing arrangements.
At this time our assignments system is not set up to handle more than one roommate request. We will try our best to ensure your roommate request but we are unable to process multiple roommate requests.
Each student is provided with a bed, mattress, dresser, desk, and chair. Apartment living rooms are furnished with a love seat, two side chairs, and a small dining table with four chairs. All units have vertical blinds and shower curtains.
No, all university facilities, including on-campus residential facilities have been declared Non-Smoking in compliance with the Florida Clean Air Act of 1992. (See State Statutes, Section 386.001.) This includes the stairwells, hallways, and building entrances. Smokers are required to smoke outside and must provide their own ashtrays as well as dispose of the waste properly.
When you arrive on campus there will not be a telephone in your room. Students will be responsible for providing their own touch-tone phone. The telephone line provided by the University provides local service only.
No. However, you may have a microwave oven in your room for the purpose of preparing microwavable dishes. The microwave oven must use no more than 1000 watts of power. Any other cooking appliances in student rooms are strictly prohibited. Lake Claire Apartments, Nike Apartments, Hercules Apartments, Rosen Apartments, and the Towers at Golden Knights Plaza have a kitchen in each unit. A full-size range and refrigerator/freezer are furnished. You are responsible for bringing cooking and dining utensils.
No, lofts are NOT allowed in university residential facilities. All beds are extra-long twin except the Towers at Golden Knights Plaza. The Towers have regular full-size beds. Residence Halls
The bathroom is cleaned and the carpet vacuumed on a weekly basis. Your custodian will post the cleaning schedule in your room. Prior to the custodian's arrival you are expected to remove all your belongings from the bathroom sink counter and shower stall. All clothing must be picked up off the floor. If you fail to do this, your bathroom will not be cleaned or your room will not be vacuumed.
Apartments
The bathrooms in the academic agreement apartments will be cleaned on a weekly basis. Your custodian will post the cleaning schedule in the bathroom area. Prior to the custodian's arrival, you are expected to remove all your belongings from the bathroom sink, counter, and shower area. If you fail to do this, your bathroom will not be cleaned. Residents must maintain their kitchen areas and vacuum their apartments. Students living in the Towers at Golden Knights Plaza are responsible for their own cleaning. Students living at the Rosen College Student Apartments will receive bathroom cleaning twice a month.
All Facilities
You are responsible for emptying your own trash into the dumpsters or trash compactors. The housing agreement requires residents to maintain clean and hygienic conditions in residence hall rooms and apartments.
We have several different security measures that help to make our housing a safe place for you to live:
The most important rule of thumb is to be selective and bring only the essentials first. You will need to bring linens (pillows, pillowcases, twin size sheets for an 80" bed), blankets, comforter, towels, washcloths, mattress pad, alarm clock, toiletry articles, wastebasket, and hangers. You may also bring a television (cable ready with cable cord), a stereo, a touchtone telephone, a refrigerator (storage capacity of no more than 5 cubic feet) and a computer, but remember to allow space in your room for the collectibles which you will accumulate rapidly. You should also bring a set of headphones so that you may enjoy your audio components without disturbing your roommate(s) or other students.
In the interest of public safety, pest control, sanitation, and general welfare, DO NOT PACK pets, bed lofts, waterbeds, firearms, explosives, or illegal drugs. These items will not be permitted in the residential facilities. To minimize the danger of fire hazards, it is necessary to establish regulations regarding the use of certain electrical appliances in student rooms. Broiler ovens, heaters, hot plates and other "open element" appliances (George Foreman grills) are serious fire hazards and, therefore, are NOT permitted in student rooms. Devices using an open flame, such as: candles, portable gas stoves, grills, fondue pots, gas burner hot plates, or gas lanterns are prohibited in student rooms. Popcorn poppers, hot pots, coffee pots, and\or microwaves (must be 1000 watts or less) are permitted.
The University Meal Plan is a voluntary program for all UCF students. There are several different meal plans available. Please contact UCF Dining Services at (407) 823-2651 or www.ucfdining.com for more information.
Yes, all UCF residence halls and apartments have internet connections available to students. Students may not set-up their own wireless routers in their rooms. Wireless access is available in some housing outside areas and lounges. Wireless access is not available in rooms.
Yes, all University residential facilities are wired for cable television service. However, it will be necessary for students to supply a cable cord to connect the television to the wall. All rooms are provided with a single standard residential cable outlet mounted on the wall.
Academic Year Agreements (Apollo, Libra, Lake Claire, Hercules, Nike)
