The Order of Pegasus is UCF’s most prestigious student award. Every year, about 20 recipients are selected based on factors such as academic achievement, campus involvement and leadership, and community service. This year, five students in the Order of Pegasus Class of 2021 resided on campus and below they shared how living on campus positively impacted their UCF experience. Get to know these stellar students below!

Riya Shah, Current Resident

“I lived on campus for all four of my years at UCF, and I have absolutely loved the experience. I got the opportunity to be paired with some amazing people as roommates, and I’m still close friends with them today. I lived in Tower 3, which was the Honors Living Learning Community. The proximity to campus as well as the printing lab has allowed me to be surrounded by so many resources for growth. I am so grateful to the housing community and staff. It’s an experience that I’ll never forget.”

Julie Poulsen, Current Resident

“Living on campus has been one of the best decisions I could have made coming to UCF. Not only has the convenience of being super close to my classes and athletic events made my experience better here at UCF, but it has also been super nice to live with roommates from different places as I have created friendships for a lifetime.  UCF Housing has created a super nice environment for us students with awesome RAs and rooms that make you feel at home.”

Chantale Ninah, Former Resident

“Living on campus when I started at UCF was a dream! I was able to find my community, immerse myself in campus life, and seek out opportunities. Since I did not have to worry about commuting, I was able to fill my time with exploring campus, expanding my network of friends, and finding the best study spots campus has to offer. Living on campus contributed to my success in landing internships at Microsoft, representing the student body on the President’s Leadership Council, and being inducted into the Order of Pegasus Class of 2021.”

Jasmine Masri, Former Resident

“Living on campus, especially during my Freshman year, was an incredible way to find a close-knit community on campus! Attending such a large university, it’s difficult to find your place, but I had the chance to live in a Living Learning Community and made my closest friends with my dorm neighbors! It was the best way to transition from a high school to a university student.”

Padmavathi Ganduri, Former Resident

“When I started out as a freshman at UCF, I was really fortunate to be able to live in Towers on campus. It was very helpful for me to be able to walk to class, meetings, or anything else I had going on around campus because I did not have a car yet. This was important to me because I was able to start getting involved in leadership and service opportunities without worrying about transportation. I also got to start building relationships with my roommates and fellow residents. After living in Tower I for two years, I moved to Tower III to live in the Honors LLC. Here, I got to meet honors students and participate in Honors Congress events taking place in the lobby. Living on campus played such a large role in helping me feel connected to the events and students at UCF, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to call Towers my home for almost four years!”
