Get to Know our Involved Has Posted Friday, February 19, 2021 @ 10:26 AM Scott Buksbaum has been a Housing Ambassador with UCF Housing for the past year, providing daily tours, excellent customer service, and special events assistance to residents, prospective residents, and their families. Buksbaum is pursuing a double major in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology, and Forensic Science with concentration in Chemistry. His minor is Legal Studies. Besides being an active UCF student staff member, he is also a member of the Burnett Honors College, on the President’s Honor Roll, part of the UCF Moot Court, and a recipient of the Provost Scholarship. Buksbaum’s latest accomplishment is his recent acceptance into UCF’s President Leadership Council. PLC is a devoted group of student ambassadors who represent the student body to UCF administrators and other interested parties. This opportunity will provide Buksbaum with the chance to meet other dedicated students and work with UCF faculty. Reflecting on his experience with Housing thus far, Buksbaum shared how his Housing Ambassador role helped prepare him for the opportunity: “Working in Housing helped give me the confidence to stand up in front of a group of people and tell them how amazing UCF really is. It helped me improve my public speaking and presentation skills, helping me combat speaking anxiety and allowing me to better myself. It provided me with the opportunity to help impact the next generation, and I see PLC as just an extension of the work that I have done at Housing. With both of these positions, I want to continue to make sure that everyone is aware of the great opportunities that UCF has to offer for everyone.” Marketing Coordinator Hayden Lau supervises the Housing Ambassador team and has enjoyed watching Buksbaum thrive at UCF. She attributes his success to his willingness to take advantage of campus resources around him. Lau stated, “The Housing Ambassador program offers a unique experience where current UCF students have the opportunity to impact a prospective student’s decision to attend the university. Scott was chosen out of a number of applicants to be a member of our Ambassador Team and has demonstrated all the unique qualities that a university ambassador should possess. Scott has been an invaluable member of our team and is always willing to help with special projects and offer the team some comedic relief. I’m proud of Scott for being selected for PLC and think he will be a wonderful asset to their prestigious team!” Back
