Graduating Seniors Only:
Eligible graduating seniors will be able to stay until Sunday, May 10 @ 12:00 p.m. (noon). Access must be updated at the community office by Wednesday, May 6.
Move-out Timing Requirements
- Plan to vacate within 24 hours of your last exam
- If you do not have final exams, you must move out within 24 hours of your last class
- All residents must move-out by May 6 at 12:00 p.m. (noon), unless approved to stay as a graduating senior
Move-out appointments & Move-out
Students must complete the move-out process by Tuesday, May 5th at 12:00 p.m. (noon). A move-out appointment is required.
Move-Out Appointments
- Students must schedule an appointment within 24 hours of their departure or no later than May 4
- Appointments are available Wednesday, April 29 – Tuesday, May 5
- The last appointment will be on May 5, at 4:45 p.m.
- Appointments are scheduled through the housing portal
- Availability is limited each day, so students are encouraged to schedule early!
Students who arrive on May 5 without an appointment will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. To avoid delays, students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance rather than waiting until the last minute.
Failure to follow appropriate guidelines will result in improper move-out fees and loss of ability to appeal charges for room damages.
Spring 2026 move-out scheduling

Students sign-up for move-out appointments in the Housing Portal.
Before April 29
No appointment necessary.
Call or visit your community office during business hours to check-out with a staff member.
April 29 – May 5
Appointments are available in 15-minute time slots from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Schedule your appointment through the Housing Portal and arrive at your community office at your scheduled time.
How to Schedule a Move-Out Appointment:
- Log in to the Housing Portal (myUCF > Housing > Housing Portal).
- From the Housing Quick Links section on the right, click ‘Book a Move-Out Appointment’, then click ‘Select’ on your summer assignment.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to search for and book and appointment.
Move-Out Room Inspections
Housing and Residence Life staff will conduct move-out room inspections during your Move-Out Appointment. Please prepare your room for this inspection by following all guidelines in the Community Living Guide. Violations may result in disciplinary action and fines charged to your student account. Charges may be assessed for failure to remove trash from your room, suite, or apartment. During the inspection, staff will not allow residents to continue packing or removing trash. When finished, they will collect keys and lock the room/apartment.

- Failure to return your key results in a $75 replacement fee
- Students are not able to mail in their bedroom keys after move-out

Preparing for Move-out
You will receive information from your RA during your community meeting on preparing to move-out. Here are some important reminders for all residents:
- Make your space “Welcome Ready”
- You are responsible for returning your space to the condition it was when you moved in
- Clean your bedroom and all shared spaces (bathroom, kitchen, etc.)
- Return furniture to its original layout
- Remove all belongings and trash
- You can be charged $250.00 for excessive cleaning and $50.00 per bag of abandoned property
- Larger abandoned items like furniture will incur higher fees for haul away and/or storage
- Consider donating unwanted items (donation boxes will be located near your community office)
- Coordinate cleaning responsibilities with roommates
- Report maintenance issues or lost keys before move-out
- Quiet hours are 24 hours a day beginning April 28
- Contact your RA or community office if you need assistance
Things to keep in mind:
- Equipment is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis. Residents will sign out equipment from their community office.
- Residents are responsible for removing all belongings and trash from their rooms. Dumpsters and recycling bins will be available in all communities.
- If any of your items are unwanted and are still in good condition, donation bins will be located In each community at various locations.
- Find a list of what can and cannot be donated at UCF Housing on Instagram.
- If an item is too large to fit in the donation bin, please leave it next to the bin and contact a housing staff member.
Cleaning and Closing Checklist:
Below is a checklist to follow when cleaning and moving out of your community. For more information on potential charges, you can contact your community office. Charges are also listed in the Community Living Guide.
- Clean out all personal items from your room, bathroom, kitchen, and common area(s).
- Empty, defrost, and clean mini-fridges
- Empty and clean kitchen refrigerators. Apartment refrigerators should remain plugged in.
- Wipe down furniture, drawers, and windowsills
- Remove all items posted on your door, windows, and walls including tape, sticky tac, or other adhesive residue
- Set thermostat to AUTO 72 degrees
- Take out trash and recycling. Break down and recycle boxes.
- Close and lock windows and turn off lights
- Leave blinds closed
- Update your forwarding address in the Housing Portal
Failure to follow move-out guidelines may result in improper move-out fees and damage charges.
graduating seniors
Graduating seniors who are moving out at the end of the semester may stay until their commencement ceremony. Graduating residents approved to stay must update key access at their community office by Wednesday, May 6 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). You will lose access if you do not update your key.
No residents may remain past Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
