
Each year, UCF Housing residents can showcase their style and enter the department’s Room Design Contest for a chance to win prizes and be featured across social media. This year, residents can submit 1-2 photos of their room in one of two categories: private room or shared room (two roommates). Prizes include UCF merch!
To enter the 2026 Room Design Contest, students should fill out the form linked here. The 2026 Room Design Contest will open on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, and the deadline to enter is Sunday, August 30th, 2026, at 11:59pm.

This year, rooms will be voted on by UCF Housing and Residence Life staff. Due to this, student staff are not eligible to enter the Room Design Contest.
Department of Housing and Residence Life staff will vote for the top 2 entries (first place and second place) in each category. Staff voting will end on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, at 12:00pm.
First and second place winners will be contacted via email by Friday, September 4th, 2026, at 5:00pm. Winners will be required to participate in a photo session of their room with UCF Housing and Residence Life staff.
Please note that winners will NOT be contacted via social media. Please be wary of accounts impersonating our only Instagram account, @UCFHousing.
Rules, Terms and Conditions
- Participants must currently live in an UCF on-campus residence hall–Apollo, Libra, Lake Claire, Hercules, Nike, Neptune, Rosen, Towers, or NorthView.
- Acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s consent to the use of his/her name, likeness, and generated content by UCF Housing for promotional or advertising purposes. Contestants consent to future use of their decorated space for photography and videography as requested by UCF Housing. All requested photography and videography sessions will be supervised by UCF Housing staff and will be scheduled in agreement with all occupants of the resident’s assigned space.
- UCF Housing reserves the right to disqualify any person from tampering with the operation of the promotion or otherwise violating these rules.
- Entrants decorating their space with prohibited items will be automatically disqualified. See your Community Living Guide for a complete list of items (No window coverings, string lights or candles allowed).
- Only one entry per bedroom (Private and shared rooms ALL count as one bedroom and one entry). If living in a shared room, both roommates must agree to participate in the contest. Suitemates don’t need to agree to participate unless you are submitting a living room entry.
- Your submission must include at most 2 unedited photos of your room. No Instagram photos, photos with filters, or collages will be accepted. No bathroom photos, please.
- All entries will be reviewed. Department of Housing and Residence Life staff will vote for the top 2 entries (first and second place) in each category.
- Department of Housing and Residence Life staff will choose finalists based on creativity, use of color, school spirit, theme, and overall design.
- Department of Housing and Residence Life student staff are not eligible to participate.
