How do I opt into or out of Open Housing?
Log into the Housing Portal and navigate to Application > Update Profile (under Housing Quick Links). Follow the on-screen instructions and as you click through your profile, you will be able to view and update your answers to the questions listed. On the Open Housing question, change your answer accordingly. If you are opting in, you will answer ‘Yes’ to the question, then be prompted to read through the Open Housing guidelines and confirm or decline your selection before proceeding. If you are opting out, you will answer ‘No’ to the question and then proceed with the rest of the profile.
I am in a roommate group where some of my group members are opted into Open Housing and others are not. We are now getting an error when trying to select rooms for the group. What should we do?
The members opted into Open Housing may opt out or the members who are not in Open Housing may opt in. For the members who wish to change their Open Housing status, they can log into the Housing Portal and navigate to Application > Update Profile and follow the on-screen instructions to update their response to the Open Housing question. Alternatively, the group leader may re-enter Roommate Matching and edit the group by either removing members or disbanding the group.
If I am a member of a Living Learning Community, but some members of my group are not, can I still select a space on the floor of my LLC?
No, not with the members of your roommate group. If members of your roommate group are not members of the same LLC, they will not be able to live on your LLC designated floors or sections. If you wish to live with non-LLC roommates or roommates with a different LLC, you are all welcome to select an apartment or suite on a non-LLC floor.
