DHRL’s Geoffrey Koester and Rob Zinger Accepted into ACUHO-I National Housing Training Institute

NHTI offers residential professional development opportunities

Posted Monday, March 14, 2022 @ 11:56 AM

The National Housing Training Institute is an intense professional development opportunity sponsored by ACUHO-I each year. It addresses many competency and functional areas within Housing & Residence Life and is specifically geared towards helping professionals with 3-7 years of experience in Housing advance their knowledge and careers to the next level. Since its inception in 1971, NHTI has had over 750 individuals participate in this small cohort-model experience. NHTI focuses on competencies including budget management, assessment, crisis management, facilities, human resources, supervision, inclusion and cultural competency, master planning, occupancy management, and more areas that impact the work of Housing & Residence Life professionals along with relevant current issues. NHTI participants must submit an application and be selected by the ACUHO-I committee planning the institute prior to participating. While usually taking place in-person at a host institution, the institute went virtual in 2021 (after pausing in 2020) and remains virtual this year. NHTI 2022 will take place over the span of six full days in May 2022.

Please take a moment to congratulate Geoffrey Koester (Coordinator, Tower I @ Knight’s Plaza) and Rob Zinger (Coordinator for Academic Initiatives) in being accepted into the National Housing Training Institute.
