Description

The Marketing Assistant assists the UCF Housing Marketing team with Orientation tablingsocial media communications, marketing events, and other special projects

Qualifications

  • Be in good academic and conduct standing with the University and Department of Housing and Residence Life.   
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher at time of hire.   
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.   
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about UCF and the Department of Housing and Residence Life. 
  • Ability to effectively and positively represent UCF and the Department of Housing and Residence Life.   
  • Knowledge of social media marketing and popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. 
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordination of Housing’s participation in Summer Orientations  
    • Serve as primary staff at Housing Orientation table throughout the summer; answering questions and interacting with guests. 
    • Pack, deliver and setup materials for Orientation table/booths. 
    • Assist with researching, selecting and ordering promotional items.  
    • Assist the Marketing Coordinator with organization and management of marketing storage room; including tour room decors, giveaways, shirts, literature etc. 
    • Assist with set-up/break down and decoration of summer tour rooms. 
  • Assist with social media and online efforts  
    • Research and recommend social media content based on current trends. 
    • Generate content that engages our target audiences on each respective platform. 
    • Assist with creating short-form video content and captions. 
    • Occasionally schedule future posts and graphics. 
    • Recruit Housing Ambassador and resident volunteers for online content when needed. 
    • Track social media analytics each month. 
    • Compile newsworthy stories throughout the department and draft news items for the department website.
    • Collaborate with the graphic designer on new opportunities and ideas for graphics each month. 
  • Selecnew movies each month for the department’s resident-streaming service, Knightflix. 
  • Assist with prep and staffing of other large-scale events.  
  • Attend events as a department ambassador as needed. 
  • Staff housing administration front desk areas (HAB, HS or NorthView) during normal business hours and some weekend hours as needed. 
  • Give tours of Housing communities in absence of Housing Ambassadors as needed. 
  • Assist on Open House days (Saturdays) for prospective students. 
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.  
  • Work approximately 35 hours per week.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
