How to Choose

With different styles and agreement lengths, we are often asked, “how do I choose?” There are a variety of different factors that can help you narrow down which agreement type is best for you. Keep in mind, that no matter where you live, all residence halls have similar amenities such as high-speed WiFi, laundry facilities, included utilities (no caps), maintenance services, and activities like social programs and events. Once you are able to answer some of these questions, go to the Housing Options tab and refine your search by looking at floor plans, photos, and even taking a virtual tour!

What is the difference between an ACADEMIC Agreement and an ANNUAL Agreement?

Academic Agreement includes the option of living at the following communities for TWO semesters (Fall and Spring). Residents in the Academic Agreement must vacate their residence hall during winter break.

- Apollo, Libra, Nike & Hercules, Neptune, Lake Claire, or Rosen.

Annual Agreement includes the option of living at the following communities for THREE semesters (Fall, Spring, and the following Summer). Residents in the Annual Agreement do not have to vacate their residence hall during winter break, but must commit to living in the space for the full three semester duration of the agreement.

- Towers, Northview, Rosen (Rosen has the option to add a summer semester).

Is COST a factor?

Click here to view our housing rates. Rental rates are listed by semester, per person, per room type. Rental Rates are approved by the UCF Board of Trustees each year. All rates are subject to change.

Is LOCATION a factor?

Libra and Apollo are the most centrally located residence halls on campus. If you are interested in living in one of these, you should apply for the Academic Agreement.

Is having a PRIVATE BEDROOM a must-have, essential living criteria for you?

The Towers Agreement, NorthView Agreement, or Rosen Agreement may be a great fit for you!

*All rooms in these agreements are apartment style and feature private bedrooms. The Towers Agreement and NorthView Agreement are annual or 3-semester agreements. The Rosen Agreement has the option of becoming a 3-semester agreement.

Are you interested in being surrounded by other incoming FRESHMEN?

The Academic Agreement would be a great fit for you! Communities that are all freshmen students include Apollo, Libra, Lake Claire, Neptune, and Nike & Hercules shared suites

Are you planning on applying to the BURNETT HONORS college?

Honor students have the opportunity to be in the Honors Living Learning Community which is located in Tower III. Students who are interested in living in this community MUST apply for a Towers Agreement. It is not required or guaranteed to live in Honors housing, as Honors students live in all of our residence halls and are not given priority for on-campus housing.

Are you interested in living in a Living Learning Community (LLC)?

LLCs are a great opportunity for first-year students to connect to a smaller community and engage in unique experiences. Current LLCs include EXCEL/COMPASS, LEAD Scholars, or Nursing @ Nike. All LLCs (besides Honors) reside in Academic Agreement communities.

Are you a TRANSFER student or GRADUATE student?

The majority of transfer and graduate students live off-campus around the UCF/Orlando area. The Office of Student Neighborhood Relations provides resources for students in their search for off-campus housing, such as the Knight’s Guide to Living Off Campus, and the UCF Off Campus Partners website.

There is limited on-campus housing available. Transfer or Graduate students are eligible to live at our NorthView community and Rosen College Apartments. Transfer or Graduate students may apply to live at NorthView through the lottery system. The Rosen application is filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Are you an UPPERCLASSMEN or RETURNING RESIDENT?

We highly recommend searching for off-campus housing options, as on-campus housing is very limited for upperclassmen or returning residents. The Office of Student Neighborhood Relations provides resources for students in their search for off-campus housing, such as the Knight’s Guide to Living Off Campus, and the UCF Off Campus Partners website.

Academic-year (Nike and Hercules apartments), Towers at Knights Plaza, and NorthView housing applications for returning residents, upperclassman, and off-campus students, will operate on a lottery system. Rosen housing applications will operate on a first come, first served basis. Apply and submit your prepayment during the lottery or application window in order to be considered for the type of housing you have selected.
