Every year the position is new and you would need to apply and interview again.
The Candidate Waiting Area is the group of applicants that have successfully made it through the interview stage, have not been selected for a Spring RA position, but will be considered for a May to May RA position. The Alternate Pool are the applicants not selected for a May to May RA position and will be considered vacancies in RA positions are to occur between February and October.
Applications are open July 1 – October 1. Interviews for selected candidates will take place in October; depending on staffing needs, we may have some openings for Spring (January) that we could hire for. Otherwise, all candidates that successfully complete the interview stage will be moved into the Candidate Waiting Area from October-February. Mid to late February we will notify candidates who are selected for a May-May position. You will have a few weeks to accept your offer and complete all required HR paperwork. All RA contracts are May-May with only a limited number of RAs granted permission to be excused from Summer responsibilities. Anyone not offered a May position will be moved to the Alternate Pool and will be considered for any vacancies from February through the following October.
