Keeping yourself productive is the key to academic success! One of the best ways to achieve this is by having an organized workspace. With classes being online and students adjusting to change, it can be hard to find a spot to focus. We’ve gathered some tips and tricks to keep your desk and workspace organized at home and in the office!

1. Declutter your workspace

A great place to start is clearing your workspace of nonessential items. Have papers organized in a file system or folder. Have office supplies like paper clips and pens in holders and organizers. You can use something as simple as a mason jar or drinking glass to hold your pens!

2. Have a calendar or planner

Having a calendar in eye shot is a great way to keep organized. Updating it is important to let you know what tasks you need to get done by which date. Planners are also a good option for organizing your tasks and you can bring it with you. Having these tools color coordinated is a great trick to help you remember what is due when!

3. Drawer organization

The use of a drawer organizer can really help with productivity. You can organize office supplies here, or cords for your tech devices. Keep items that are similar together like paperclips and push pins, tape and tabs, and chargers for phones and computers.

4. Use your wall space

Wall space is a great place to use for storage, decor, or just even a place to put your calendar. Try hanging a bulletin board, magazine holders, or clipboards for ample storage. Using clipboards to hang things around your desk makes it easy to grab and go. Plus, it does not clutter up your desk!

5. File your papers

Organizing paperwork can be done in a variety of ways, and a filing system is the most effective. You can use a filing cabinet to organize important papers and personal papers. Organize with labeled tabs and folders to clear away paper clutter and know where all your paperwork is. You can use filing boxes to do this!
