Parking Instructions

Parking and traffic patterns across campus will be strictly enforced to ensure continuous flow and prioritize pedestrian and vehicle safety. Do not park in fire lanes, service vehicle parking, or reserved parking at any time during move-in.

When You Arrive:

Step 1 – Head to your Community Office:

Upon arrival, please proceed to the closest parking lot for your community, as indicated in the provided move-in guide(s). Before arriving on campus, please confirm your community and housing assignment.

Step 2 – Begin Unloading:

It is highly recommended that families bring their own dollies, wagons, or hand trucks. Limited equipment will be available for check-out at your community’s office. Students are encouraged to avoid overpacking and bringing multiple or oversized vehicles.

Step 3 – Check-In Stations:

Upon arrival, residents should proceed directly to their community office with their UCF ID card. Wait times may vary based on how many residents arrive during that time. To minimize congestion at check-in stations, it is suggested that residents check in while their families and guests continue to unload their vehicles. Check-in staff will provide important information, issue keys, encode ID cards, and provide details about hall meetings and programs. Students may then return to the  parking lot or choose to meet their families at their housing assignment. Buildings will be open and accessible during move-in hours, and residents are reminded to keep apartment and room doors closed when not present.

Move-in equipment can be signed out for use upon arrival. Please note that Housing and Residence Life has limited equipment. Failure to return equipment to the community office may result in charges. Any missing or damaged equipment costs will be assessed to the student’s housing account. Please be aware that the items are not cleaned between use, so use them at your own risk. Students and families who sign out equipment must be responsible for returning it; do not had off equipment to another person, as it may result in a missing equipment fee charged to the student’s account. All equipment use is at your own risk. Always PUSH do not PULL equipment for your safety.

Late/Missing Equipment Charge Rates

Maintenance and Cleaning Requests

Should you find any maintenance or cleaning needs during move-in, place a work order online or call your community office.

Throughout the year, residents can easily report maintenance or housekeeping concerns in the following ways:

  1. Submit a work order online here and click on the “Submit Online Request” button.
  2. Call the Work Control Center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can be reached at 407-823-5223.
  3. Email maintenance and housekeeping at wcc@ucf.edu. Include your full name, building and room number with a description of the issue.

In urgent situations such as an inoperative elevator, toilet running over, power outage, an extremely hot or cold room, call the Work Control Center immediately. In addition, notify your community office of the urgent situation so that we may assist you.

Bed Adjustments

Beds are typically raised to the maximum height prior to move-in. If you would like to have your bed lowered, put in a work order online to have maintenance staff assist you. Only maintenance staff may alter bed heights. Beds at Towers and NorthView cannot be adjusted.

Internet Setup

In order to connect to the internet in your room, you will need a computer or other streaming device equipped with at least a 10Mb Ethernet interface and a standard Ethernet cable to connect to the provided Ethernet wall jack. Review the ResNet connection information via the ResNet website to register their various TVs, gaming consoles and other devices on the residential LAN and Wi-Fi networks. Most smart TVs work on the current LAN or campus Wi-Fi network with proper registration.

If you have questions regarding your internet set-up, or if you experience any problems with your ResNet registration or service, you may submit a work ticket on the UCFIT website, or you may contact the Service Desk at 407-823-5117, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM or by email.
