Get to know our new Interim Executive Director

Housing and Residence Life welcomes Interim Executive Director Dr. Andrea J. Trinklein who started January 3, 2022. Andrea is the former Assistant Vice President of Campus Life at Emory University. She received her PhD in administration, curriculum, and instruction with a higher education emphasis from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. With over 30 years of experience, she has worked in housing at many types of institutions, including both rural and urban environments. 
Andrea served as the chair of Commission III — Housing and Residential Life of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and held leadership positions within the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I), including roles on the program, internship, and host committees, serving as a chair of a conference host committee, internship, and Public Policy Advisory Committee. She has presented more than 80 regional and national sessions and workshops about sustainability; master planning; women in leadership; and the four-year residential experience. Andrea has been published in the Journal of College and University Student Housing, and in the Campus Housing Management book series. She also has served on the executive board of the Southeastern and Great Lakes Association of Housing officers. 
In her free time Andrea has served as a tutor, communications assistant for her church, and “Grandrea” for great-nieces and nephew that live locally. She is a photographer, runs, bikes, and enjoys being active with her spouse and two small high-energy dogs.
