Originally from Missouri, McKenna had never been on campus until her Orientation and for the second time on move-in day. McKenna’s coordinator stated she thinks this is “such a cool story for McKenna to be able to share and it’s a great connection for her to make with our prospective students.” McKenna, a sophomore majoring in Marketing, first lived in the Neptune community, but now lives in Greek Housing on campus and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Her favorite thing about living on campus is “being close to campus and always having the option to walk to my classes. I love the Florida weather so being able to be outside everyday was amazing. I also enjoy the easy access to study resources such as the library and All Knight Study. It gave me the opportunity to get outside of my room and study with my friends! Being on campus also allows me to be active in my extracurricular activities and work too.” Her favorite recollection of her time thus far as a Housing Ambassador was “when a mom and daughter came into the Housing Administration Building asking for more information on our housing! The daughter absolutely brightened up after hearing all of the amazing resources and activities we hold in our communities and believed we had the best dorms she had seen! And that’s without her even seeing them! Tours are always fun to do because you’re able to connect with future students and prove to them why UCF is right for them, too! ” McKenna started shortly before the university closed due to COVID 19. Just like the rest of the world, the Housing Ambassador duties shifted to virtual instead of in person as normal. Housing tours, which used to happen in person and on campus, have pivoted to being held over livestream. McKenna has stepped up to assist in the virtual tours for prospective students but says “I thoroughly miss giving tours on campus! It is so fun to be able to talk to new students or prospective students and help them decide where they want to live. “ UCF Housing is currently hiring Housing Ambassadors for the 2021-2022 school year!
