Get to know Dr. Christopher MacDonald Posted Thursday, January 12, 2023 @ 2:57 PM Dr. Christopher MacDonald has been selected as the new Assistant Vice President for Housing, Campus Recreation, and Childcare within the Division of Student Success and Well-Being. This position will oversee the areas of Housing and Residence Life, Wellness and Health Promotion Services, Recreation and Wellness, and the Creative School for Children. Dr. MacDonald comes to us from West Virginia University, where he currently serves as Executive Director for University Housing, bringing with him nearly 25 years of experience working in complex institutions of higher education. With his dynamic and proven student-centered approach, honed financial and business acumen, inclusive and compassionate leadership style, and demonstrated success in developing and sustaining healthy, efficient, and innovative organizational, operational, and staff teams, Dr. MacDonald is the ideal candidate to join our division at this critical time as we curate a path forward to achieve our collective goals for student success and well-being at UCF. UCF Housing, as well as the Division of Student Success and Well-Being, are deeply grateful for the leadership of Dr. Andrea Trinklein, who has served for the past year as the Interim Executive Director for Housing and Residence Life. A highly decorated, recognized, and seasoned national leader with over 35 years of experience in the housing, residence life and facilities space, Dr. Trinklein agreed to come out of retirement to provide direction, guidance and support to the Department of Housing and Residence Life. During her tenure at UCF, Dr. Trinklein has been a tremendous asset and help to students, staff, campus partners, and the University as a whole. Dr. Trinklein will be helping Dr. MacDonald’s transition to his new role here at UCF before she returns to her well-earned retirement once again. Back
