Ways to Support National Nurses Week, More Posted Wednesday, May 6, 2020 @ 5:13 PM To kick off National Nurses Day and National Nurses Week, The UCF College of Nursing launched a social media campaign in alignment with the American Nurses Association’s campaign, Nurses Make a Difference. This year, the ANA extended celebrations to the entire month of May after the World Health Organization declared 2020 as the International Year of the Nurse. As stated on the ANA website, “when ANA Enterprise began planning Year of the Nurse activities, including expanding Nurses Week to a month-long tribute, little did we know that we would be in the grip of a global pandemic.” This year, there are endless ways that our community can recognize and honor these frontline heroes. Social media users are invited to follow the College of Nursing on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for great content, including weekly themes of self-care, recognition, professional development, and community engagement. Audiences can also look forward to articles spotlighting current UCF nursing students and professionals. This may appeal to incoming residents interested in residing in the Nursing @ Nike Living Learning Community. Residents of this LLC have opportunities to network with faculty, academic advisors, and staff from the College of Nursing. More on the benefits of Living Learning Communities here. For more ways that UCF faculty, staff and students can show their appreciation for nurses, visit the UCF Nurses Week website. Back
