With Halloween approaching, our community has been brewing up some amazingly spooky ideas for our students to enjoy this holiday season.

UNIONWEST DOOR DECORATING CONTEST

UnionWest door decorating contest

WHERE: UnionWest residence halls

WHEN: Entries accepted until Monday, 10/26 at midnight.

WHAT: A door decorating contest for UnionWest residents. Winners will win their own order of Insomnia cookies delivered to them on Halloween!

HOW: Tag @unionwesthousing in your entry on Instagram to be entered! Voting will take place on the UnionWest Student Housing Facebook page from Tuesday, October 27th at 12:00 p.m. until Thursday October 29th at 11:59 p.m.

 

UCF HOUSING HALLOWEEN DUCK HUNT

Halloween rubber ducks

WHERE: Across the different main campus communities

WHEN: From Tuesday, 10/27 to Friday, 10/30

WHAT: A hunt for various Halloween-themed rubber ducks! Be the first to find your own!

HOW: Follow @UCFHousing on Instagram for clues on locations!

 

ROSEN’S SPOOKY MOVIE NIGHT

Rosen spooky movie night

WHERE: The Rosen Courtyard

WHEN: Tuesday, October 27th at 7:30 p.m.

WHAT: Come watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with your friends!

HOW: RSVP on Knight Connect and bring your own blankets/towels when you join. The floor with the most attendees present will win a prize!

 

KNIGHTMARE BEFORE PUMPKIN PALOOZA CONTEST

WHERE: On the @UCFSU Instagram account. Be sure to follow them for more info!

WHEN: Submissions due on Wednesday, October 28th

WHAT: The UCF Student Union’s virtual Halloween competition open to anyone at UCF. Submission categories are pumpkin carving, tasty treats, home/room decorating, Halloween themed art, and costumes (pets included).

HOW: Send a direct message to @UCFSU with a photo/short video/digital media of your submission. All submissions win a goodie bag and a chance to win the grand prize.

 

RHA HALLOWEEN BASH

WHEN: Wednesday, October 28th at 7 p.m.

WHAT: The Residence Hall Association is hosting a Halloween Bash for all residents, complete with a costume contest, online games, and prizes!

CAB AND LATE KNIGHTS: FRIGHT KNIGHT

WHERE: Lake Claire

WHEN: October 28th from 7:30-10:30 pm.

WHAT: CAB and Late Knights are hosting a Fright Knight for students! It is a haunted trail, so bring your bravery and face the monsters that await!

HOW: For social distancing purposes there will be a registration process for free on KnightsConnect! You can sign up in groups of four. You must sign up prior through the KnightsConnect link to attend and select a time frame that works best for you!

 

HALLOW’S EVE LANTERN WALK

WHERE: The UCF Arboretum Park

WHEN: Thursday, October 29th from 7 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

WHAT: An open walking trail along a jack-o-lantern lit forest and bat viewing in the evening.

HOW: No RSVP required. Physical distancing between groups and masks are required.

 

‘FLIX & TREATS MOVIE KNIGHT

WHERE: Zoom

WHEN: Thursday, October 29th at 8 p.m.

WHAT: Stream a Halloween movie and chat with fellow residents without having to leave your room. Popcorn and candy will be handed out throughout the week around the communities, so keep your eyes peeled for the HAs Halloween table to get yours!

HOW: The streaming event will take place on Zoom. The movie chosen will be selected from Knightflix, UCF Housing’s resident-only movie streaming service. Residents must RSVP here to attend the Zoom session.

 

PAINTED OAKS PUMPKIN PATCH

WHAT: Attend the pumpkins and pony’s festival that includes a hayride and is the home of Knugget!

THE HAUNTED ROAD

TUNNEL OF THE DAMNED – A BRAND NEW HAUNT EXPERIENCE

WHEN: Select dates and times between October 1st and November 1st

WHAT: The main attraction at the “Orlando Forum of Fear” is the haunted maze, designed and executed by creative horror masterminds Patrick Braillard and Kim Gromoll, both formerly behind many of the most infamous mazes at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida. The attraction, recommended for ages 13 and up, will feature 20 masked actors and will wind 480 linear feet of horrifying madness through the venue.

WHAT: Old Town Kissimmee are running a series of drive-in Halloween movies every Sunday in October. Enjoy a bit of nostalgia with your family frights. And if you want popcorn to go with your movie, be sure to call in to Kissimmee Popcorn, you’ll find over 120 flavors!!

HAUNTED HOUSES AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
