This is the only dedicated student housing in downtown Orlando, and is available to both UCF and Valencia College students.
UnionWest is UCF’s new student resident community at UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown at Creative Village. UnionWest is a 15-story building with restaurants and retail stores on the ground floor, with student services, classrooms and amenities conveniently located on floors 1–5, and student residences on floors 6–15. The building also includes a recreation center. The Collaborative, located on the 6th floor, is a resident-only club room with lounge and study areas, coffee bar, gaming/media center, community activities and an outdoor patio overlooking downtown Orlando and Creative Village Central Park. Dedicated secure elevators provide access to the residential floors.
UnionWest has three different 4-bedroom floorplans to suit the needs of many types of students. Shared bedrooms are available in two of the three unit types, while private bedrooms and baths are also available. Units are fully furnished and include all utilities and WiFi. Each student has their own private mini-fridge, desk, wired network connection and closet within their bedroom. Some units include kitchenettes and in-suite living rooms. In addition, each residential floor has a 1,600-square-foot Gathering Room for studying, entertaining and socializing, along with a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Convenient parking and bike storage within the building are available for a fee.
UnionWest is located across the street from the new Dr. Phillips Academic Commons and the Center for Emerging Media and is within walking distance to all of downtown Orlando. The free LYMMO bus connects you to the Amway Arena, Orlando City Soccer Stadium, the Central Business District and beyond. A free UCF shuttle will connect UCF Downtown to the main UCF campus, giving students easy access to additional classes, athletic facilities and student activities.
UnionWest is under construction and will open in August 2019, along with UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown. Rental rates will be available in Fall 2018.
