Area Council FAQs
Q. How much time do I have to commit to Area Council?
A. Time commitments vary from week to week and from position to position, but there is usually about 3 to 4 hours a week that should be dedicated to meetings, about an additional 2 hours a week will be put in for paperwork, preparations, and program planning
Q. How many meetings a week do I need to attend?
A. There will be either a general assembly/executive board meeting each week. Executive board members will also meet individually with an advisor on a regular basis. Area Council e-board members must attend the RHA General Assembly meeting(Time/Location TBD).
Q. Who advises Area Council?
A. The Area Coordinator has the responsibility of advising the Area Council for their respective building. The advisor will meet with you in a regular 1on1 and at meetings
Q. How does each Area Council receive money?
A. Each Area Council is provided with start up funds to begin building community in their areas from RHA. Area Councils can also request additional resources from RHA throughout the year. Approvals for additional funding will be based on funding requests and availability of funds.
Q. Who goes to Area Council meetings?
A. Anyone that lives in the respective building can attend these meetings to learn about what is happening within the community and to have their voice be heard concerning community issues.
Q. How can I get involved?
A. Talk to your AC, GA, or RA to find out how you can get involved. Election Packets are available in your community office. They will be due by Friday, August 30th at 5:00 pm to your community office.
